Significance of Evaluating Hip Joint Development through X-ray in Early Screening of Guide Dogs

摘要: 目的 应用 X 线检测犬髋关节发育状况并进行评估。 方法 中国导盲犬大连培训基地提供的 2018—2021年 160 只犬 X 线片(雄性拉布拉多犬 86 只、雌性拉布拉多犬 52 只;雄性金毛 14 只、雌性金毛 8 只) 为研究对像,分别对不同犬种、不同性别犬髋关节发育不良分级等内容进行髋关节发育情况分析。结果 髋关节发育良好共 130只(占比 81. 25%) ,髋关节发育欠佳共 30 只(占比 18. 75%) 。应用卡方检验,分析拉布拉多犬和金毛寻回猎犬髋关节发育情况差异 有 统 计 学 意 义 ( χ2= 21. 45,P < 0. 01) 。 雄性犬和雌性犬髋关节发育差异不显著 ( χ2= 0. 09,P >0. 05) 。30 只髋关节发育欠佳的犬,拉布拉多犬和金毛寻回猎犬无显著差异( χ2= 1. 53,P> 0. 05) 。结论 X 线对12 ~ 14 个月犬髋关节发育情况能进行有效的筛查。

Abstract: Objective Guide dogs are working dogs that help visually impaired persons travel safely. Method This study collected X-ray films of 160 dogs( male Labradors 86, female Labradors 52; male golden 14,female golden 8) from China Guide Dog Training Centre during the year 2018—2021. The developmental status of hip joint was analyzed by classification of hip dysplasia in dogs of different breeds and genders. Result The hip joint of 130 dogs (81. 25%) developed very well, while 30 dogs (18. 75%) had different degrees of dysplasia. We used Chi-squared Test for data analysis. There was a significant difference between Labrador retrievers and golden retrievers ( χ2=21. 45,P<0. 01) , while the difference between male and female dogs was not significant ( χ2= 0. 09,P > 0. 05). For the 30 dogs with hip dysplasia, there was no significant difference between 2 breeds ( χ2= 1. 53,P > 0. 05). Conclusion X-ray examination can effectively screen the development of hip joint in dogs aged 12-14 months.
